Hue is Vietnam’s de facto third capital due to its historical relationships and geographical location. Although it was once the capital of Vietnam, and is the third largest region of Vietnam, its rugged terrain and inhospitable climate hinders it from being recognized as an ideal area for development. This has resulted in less economic opportunities for Hue’s inhabitants, many of whom live in poverty. The political and economic capitals of northern Hanoi and southern Saigon have respectively received the bulk of attention from NGOs/INGOs. Situated in Central Vietnam, Hue falls short. Through meaningful relationships, we are working to change that.
